The American Heart Association focused the last 10 years on reaching their 2010 Impact Goal and in doing so accomplisheda reduction in coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25%.   In January the American Heart Association launched its2020 Impact Goal to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by20%.  The American Heart Association is clearly focused on not only reducing the burden of disease but on the prevention of disease.
