Each year, Ad 2 Orlando, a not-for-profit organization providing young professionals in advertising professional development opportunities, selects a non-profit (501c3) organization, and donates a full advertising, marketing and public relations campaign to them at no charge. Last year Ad 2 Orlando was recognized by the American Advertising Federation for its work with SafeHouseofSeminole in the fight against domestic violence. The campaign not only proved to be a marketing success, but significantly impacted the organization’s cause, directly resulting in four women and their children seeking help from SafeHouse. The campaign’s total value was more than $300,000, and it received over 11 million impressions.
The goal of the Public Service Campaign is to allow its young professionals to flex their knowledge and skills in communications while giving back to the community. Past campaigns have included re-branding/identity creation, public relations, social media strategy, web site production, media placement, TV production and community outreach. Local media outlets rose to the challenge and donated $56,000 in media donations, which resulted in online, print, radio, TV and billboard advertisements. The rebranding effort resulted in a creative new logo and web site, as well as print collateral. The campaign also included a community outreach program for the area police department to increase awareness and communication between the authorities and SafeHouse. Additionally, the organization underwent media training and was armed with earned media and social media best practices.
About Ad 2 Orlando
Ad 2 Orlando is the young professionals division of the American Advertising Federation – Orlando. Its membership is exclusive to individuals ages 18 to 32 and exists to address the needs of young people in the advertising industry. Ad 2 Orlando is also affiliated with other Ad 2 chapters, nationwide, whose members are employed or interested in advertising, marketing and public relations. Its organizational goal is to create future leaders through educational, leadership development and networking programs while mentoring students and annually providing advertising and public relations support to a non-profit organization in the community.
Ad 2 Orlando is part of the Fourth District American Advertising Federation, which includes all AAF clubs throughout Florida and the Caribbean.
