Metro Orlando Film Commission Exceeds Goals 07/25/12


Tonight at 11 p.m., new MTV series WakeBrothers premieres. The show is about the fierce sibling rivalry and crazy shenanigans between brothers Phil and Bob Soven, both professional wakeboarders who live in Orlando. Their season was shot in the region from February through June. Click here to see trailer.

WakeBrothers is the latest in a series of television production in the region, including two other MTV series that recently filmed in the region, including:

An American version of the British series Inbetweeners filmed their entire season in Orlando, mostly in Orange County, including at Dr. Phillips High School and Universal Studios Florida and will premiere on MTV August 20 at 10:30 p.m.

Orlando couples were filmed for MTV’s FriendZone series by 495 Productions, which shot around Metro Orlando. The show premiered May 29.

“We are having an extraordinarily busy year for film and television production in Metro Orlando,” said Sheena Fowler, Orlando Film Commissioner. “Our goal for this year was to have 500 permitted production days and we’re already at a total of 627 days.”
