Bid now ONLINE HERE

If you have never been – this event is the kickoff of Central Florida’s cultural season! This is the 8th Annual Red Chair Affair and will be on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Your ticket to sample the cultural offerings for the 2012-2013, this extraordinary evening is held at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre and includes performances from a variety of genres and organizations!

Once again, IKEA has partnered with Red Chair Affair for the IKEA Red Chair Silent Auction, which can be viewed at www.biddingforgood.com/redchairproject/2012. Various art organizations and corporate partners artistically decorated child-sized chairs and partnered with “packaged experiences.” The highest online bid will begin the silent auction held during the VIP reception. In addition, all of the chairs will be on display at CityArts Factory now through August 10.

All activities lead up to the Red Chair Affair event, featuring a variety of performances from cultural organizations sharing one stage – all showcasing events and performances coming up during the 2012-2013 season. This year our headliner is Michael Andrew, who will be performing a preview of his performance with the Orlando Philharmonic, coming up in February as part of their 20th Anniversary season. Both general admission and VIP tickets are available for the event. General Admission patrons will enjoy arts and cultural preshow activities in the lobby of Bob Carr from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. The 90 minute performance on the Bob Carr stage begins at 8:00 p.m. and will feature over some Central Florida’s arts organizations. General Admission tickets are open seating and $22 each, $15 for students/seniors.

Red Chair Affair VIP tickets include a pre and post event backstage as well as complimentary food, beer, wine from some of Orlando’s finest restaurants, as well as valet parking.  VIPs will have the opportunity to bid on the IKEA Red Chair Silent Auction and enjoy the best seats in the house for the main stage performance.  The VIP reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and patrons are encouraged to dress in their best red. VIP tickets are $225 each and corporate packages are available.

The Red Chair Project is a community service, managed by the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Central Florida, designed to increase awareness of and participation in Central Florida arts and culture offerings. As a collaborative campaign involving more than 360 arts and cultural organizations, it promotes and grows the arts in the region through RedChairProject.com, a website with arts and cultural events, discounted tickets, classes/workshops and cultural getaways.
