The Love Your Shorts Film Festival is an annual event featuring short films selected from submissions received from all over the world. It was founded in February 2010 in beautiful Historic Downtown Sanford and held at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center. The festival is open to novice and veteran filmmakers, both amateur and professional in seven categories. The event showcases films of up to 30 minutes in length. In only its second year, the festival has doubled in size and has garnered rave reviews from critics, participants and attendees. Planning and preparations for the 2013 event are currently under way.

Love Your Shorts Film Festival’s Summer Rewind will feature a variety of films screened at the 2nd Annual Festival in February. The11 shorts were chosen from all of the festival’s categories — Comedy, Drama, Animation, Documentary, Sci-Fi/Horror, Florida Flavor, and “E” for Everyone.

The Summer Rewind starts at 8 p.m. and is a joint project of the non-profit Love Your Shorts Film Festival and the historic 1923 performing arts center at 201 S. Magnolia Ave. Tickets will be $5 at the door. The films will begin following the monthly Sanford Art Walk, which is held at several downtown art galleries along 1st Avenue. The Art Walk begins at 5 p.m.
