With all the volunteer opportunities available today, choosing what organizations in your community to become involved in and donate your time is not always an easy task. If you’re looking to make a difference in the lives of children, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida is holding its Wish Granting Session on Sept. 29, 2012 in Lake City, FL.
Becoming a Make-A-Wish volunteer means working one-on-one with very special children and their families. You’ll be there every step of the way; helping to plan their wish and watching it come true, resulting in a truly gratifying feeling for everyone. This session will educate volunteers on how to determine the child’s one true wish, wish granting techniques, company policies and guidelines, and how to help make the wish come to life.
Since 1980, The Make-A-Wish Foundation has worked to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy, and none of it could happen without your time, devotion and creativity.
Becoming a Make-A-Wish volunteer is a way to be more hands-on with a local charity, and an alternative to sending in a monetary donation. If you are at least 21 or older and interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Stephanie Smith at 407.622.4673 x201 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
