The 3rd Annual Eat Local Week—a weeklong celebration of local food, community and culture in Central Florida—takes place November 9 – 17, 2012. Over a dozen FREE activities are scheduled throughout the week so that people all over Central Florida can EAT LOCAL, DRINK LOCAL, SHOP LOCAL, and LEARN LOCAL. In addition, several area restaurants and other establishments will present three-course, prix fixe menus all week long, featuring ingredients from local farms, ranches and fisheries.
Presented by Slow Food Orlando, a local chapter of an international organization that promotes regional and authentic foods, community events throughout the week emphasize the core values of Slow Food: that food should be “Good, Clean and Fair.” By attending a free event or ordering the Eat Local Week menu at one of the participating restaurants, community members can enjoy the taste of fresh, seasonal food and support the growing local-food movement.
