CIA Partners with MBA Orlando for Networking Event

CIA in Orlando! MBA Orlando host Central Intelligence Agency Forum

MBA Orlando in conjunction with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) will host a forum to help inform the Central Florida community about the CIA’s mission and inclusive and welcoming workplace with keynote speakers from the CIA. This free event will be held on November 29, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Orlando City Hall.

This event will leverage connections in the community so the CIA can develop long-term relationships with the chamber and other LGBTQA community leaders. This engagement will inform and educate the Central Florida region about the CIA’s mission and that the CIA regards it as a mission imperative for our nation to be an inclusive organization of all our citizens.

Two CIA LGBT officers and the LGBT Community Outreach and Liaison Program Manager from the CIA’s Center for Mission Diversity and Inclusion will present at the event with the hope of engaging the Central Florida community.

CIA LGBT Community Outreach and Liaison Program Manager, Michael Barber is excited for the chance to connect with the Orlando community.

“The CIA is pleased to work with MBA Orlando to organize a networking event to help us inform the community about our mission, debunk some of the myths, and spread the message about our inclusive and welcoming workplace,” Barber said.

In order for the CIA to meet their mission of protecting our national security interests, they employ a workforce as diverse as America itself—the most diverse nation on earth. Diversity reflects the unique ways they vary as Intelligence Officers— nationality, race, ethnicity, gender, age, language, culture, sexual orientation, education, values, beliefs, abilities, and disabilities.  These assorted attributes create different demographic, functional, and intellectual views, which are so vital to the CIA’s innovation, agility, collection, and analysis.

MBA Orlando is Central Florida’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce committed to the development, advocacy and growth of the LGBT business community and its allies.
