Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Wears University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane Jersey

Last week Mayor Dyer made a proclamation supporting UCF!

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BUDDY DYER, Mayor of the City of Orlando, hereby do Proclaim Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1, 2012, as   “Black and Gold Days”   in the city of Orlando.

(Bad news….)

This past Saturday, Orlando’s hometown university, the UCF Knights lost 27-33 in overtime to the University of Tulsa (UT) Golden Hurricanes at the Conference USA Championship game in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the H.A. Chapman Stadium.

In agreement with the wager between the Mayors of Orlando and Tulsa and because UCF lost the C-USA Championship game, Mayor Dyer will wear the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane jersey at today’s City Council meeting.  In addition, Mayor Dyer will send a key lime pie from local business, The Tap Room at Dubsdread, to Tulsa Mayor Bartlett in Oklahoma.

WAGER BACKGROUND:
Last week before the C-USA Championship game, Orlando Mayor Dyer and Tulsa Mayor Bartlett proposed a friendly competition to each other, where the Mayor of the city who does not win will wear the other team’s jersey at an upcoming City Council meeting.  In addition, if UCF lost, Mayor Dyer would send a key lime pie to Tulsa Mayor Bartlett and if UT lost, Mayor Bartlett would send a pecan pie to Mayor Dyer.

See him today @ City Council Meeting Wearing it!
