Garden Theatre Announces 2013-2014 Theatre Season

WINTER GARDEN, FL (March 4, 2013) – The Garden Theatre, located at 160 West Plant Street in historic Winter Garden, is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 Theatre Season, running from September 2013-May 2014.  In addition to the five full-length theatrical presentations and the StarLite Film Festival, the season will be dotted with weekend events such as music and dance concerts, as well as movies and holiday offerings, which will be announced in the next few months. Subscriptions will go on sale April 1 to past passholders, April 15 for new subscribers, and May 1 for single tickets.

September 13 – October 6, 2013
The Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook has accidentally poisoned the rest of the sisters. In dire need of funds for the burials, the sisters look to produce a variety show in a school auditorium. Featuring star turns, tap and ballet dancing, and plenty of surprises, the quirky comedy Nunsense has become an international phenomenon.

Alice Lost in Wonderland marks the ninth production in partnership with Beth Marshall Presents and this adaptation’s world premiere at the Garden Theatre. In a world of madness nothing is as it seems and we can’t go back to yesterday because we were different people then.
“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” said Alice.
“Oh you can’t help that,” said the cat. “We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” asked Alice.
“You must be,” said the cat, “or you wouldn’t have come.”

Two fraudsters in the French Riviera cross paths, but soon find out the town they live in isn’t big enough to support two scammers. They challenge one another: the first to successfully steal from a young woman they meet gets to stay in town, while the loser is forced to leave. The battle between them ensues, but not without countless twists and laughs along the way.
