Orlando Philharmonic’s Stages Rossini’s The Barber of Seville will make you Laugh out Loud!
We are sure you are going to Love this and it would be a perfect Date or just a fun Friday night out!
This month, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will produce Rossini’s comedic opera, The Barber of Seville, with performances Friday, October 25 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 27 at 2 p.m. at Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre!
The Barber of Seville tells the story of how town barber and local nuisance, Figaro, helps the young Rosina escape an unwanted marriage to her elderly guardian, Dr. Bartolo. Meanwhile, Figaro helps the Count Almaviva evade Bartolo’s close watch and win Rosina’s heart through a series of disguises and tricks. Figaro’s aria, “Largo al factotum,” is one of the most recognized in all of opera.
Returning guest opera conductor Joel Revzen, who conducted last year’s production of The Marriage of Figaro, says Rossini’s 200-year-old opera is more relevant today than most would expect:
“You will laugh heartily at the plot, be mesmerized by the vocal artistry on display throughout the opera, and cheer at the end as love triumphs over greed,” he said. “This is truly an opera for people of all ages.”
