What’s Up Downtown | Looking Back, Moving Forward

ABOUT THIS EVENT: 2013 was a year filled with major new developments, exciting announcements, and many reasons to celebrate for Downtown Orlando.  The Orlando City Soccer team became USL Pro Champions, achieved MLS status and will soon have their own professional soccer stadium; the eight See Art Orlando sculpture installations were unveiled; and the Magic announced their plans to build the Sports Entertainment Development across from the Amway Center. Those are just a few examples of the many great developments that occurred in 2013.

As exciting as the past year has been, 2014 has a lot in store for Downtown Orlando. Please join us for the first installment of What’s Up Downtown for the new year, in which we will take a look back at 2013 and discuss all the exciting changes that await us in 2014! The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 6 at Shakai Sushi Lounge (43 E. Pine St.) Our speaker will be the Executive Director of the Downtown Development Board and Community Redevelopment Agency, Thomas Chatmon, Jr.
