Today was “School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day”!
“On School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day, I joined our dedicated school crossing guards to show my support and appreciation for their service in our community. They work in all kinds of weather and often face adverse conditions to protect our most valuable resource, our students and children. Our outstanding crossing guards make a tremendous difference in the lives of our children and are just one of the many reasons that Orange County continues to be the best place in the world to live, learn, work and raise a family.”
Mayor Jacobs and the and Board of County Commissioners recently honored the more than 300 school crossing guards in Orange County proclaiming Friday, February 7 as “School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.” Mayor Jacobs reminds motorists to drive safely and allow extra time to their commute particularly during peak school start and end times.
