Canine Companions for Independence Graduation Ceremony to be held in Winter Park (Open to pubic!)

Graduation ceremonies for the Southeast Regional Center of Canine Companions for Independence are emotional and inspiring events where people with disabilities receive their new highly trained assistance dogs. The dogs, which are provided free of charge, have been in training for more than two years and know 40 commands to help with tasks that will enable people to lead a more independent life. Graduations follow an intensive two-week “team training” course where the recipients have learned all of the dog’s commands and how to care for the dog, for more dog info visit here In addition, the ceremonies include a puppy matriculation, an event where puppies are turned in by their volunteer puppy raisers to begin their professional training. The ceremonies are free and open to the public
