Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an international men’s march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. On March 12th, teams will attempt to walk a MILE through Downtown Orlando in their fancy footwear some got online from shoeadviser.com while raising awareness of domestic abuse. Teams will also compete for awards like; Best Team Spirit, Largest Team at the event and Most Creative Shoe. Therefore, all men intending to participate should get your sneaker trainers BEFORE the walk.

Registration starts at 5pm

Walk Kick Off starts at 6pm at the Orange County Courthouse.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it? Walk to the Orange County History Center, in your fabulous footwear. Don’t worry, you won’t be alone. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, other public officials and community walkers will also be strutting their stuff through Downtown Orlando!

If you can’t walk the mile or attend this year’s walk, you may sponsor a walker of your choosing, help promote the event or make a donation by visiting WAM’s website at wamorlando.kintera.org.

As of this writing, only seven teams have signed up to participate including local companies like Bank of America and the Community Food Outreach Center of Orlando. Surely we can do BETTER THAN THAT, right Orlando??
