Demystifying Forensic Sciences at Science Night Live!

Live from Orlando… it’s Science Night Live! Now celebrating it’s 60th Anniversary! Let Orlando Science Center’s Mark Schaub tell you a little more about it…

Have you ever watched the Fox TV show Bones and wondered, “That’s really cool. How do they do that? How do they know all this stuff?” This Saturday, you can ask these burning questions and learn directly from the pros!

Orlando Science Center has partnered with the American Academy of Forensic Sciences for the first Science Night Live of the year to kick off its 60th Anniversary celebration! This month’s SNL will feature celebrities of science from the world of forensics including: Investigator Dr. Henry Lee, Forensic Anthropologist and author Dr. Kathy Reichs (who is also a producer on Bones!), Toxicologist and Director of the University of Florida’s Forensic Medicine division Dr. Bruce Goldberger and Central Florida’s favorite Medical Examiner, Jan Garavaglia, M.D. (better known as Dr. G) as they demystify the forensic sciences.

You can also conduct your own crime scene investigation in Dr. Dare’s Laboratory.  Play out the role of the forensics expert as you put the clues together using techniques from various forensic disciplines, as well as:

  • View stars and planets through the giant refractor telescope in the Crosby Observatory
  • Experience 3D films in the Digital Adventure Theater: A National Geographic Experience
  • Participate in Science Trivia
