Feeding Children Everywhere’s Cirque Du Runway Fashion Show

On September 20th, 2013 I my lovely friend, Ilsa, and I joined about 50 other people at Feeding Children Everywhere’s first annual “Cirque du Runway” fashion show.  The show itself was the brainchild of two FCE interns and all models were interns or staff from the organization.  The models rocked FCE’s wear down the runway while they showed audience members that a t-shirt can be sexy, functional, and quite the conversation piece.  In between the runway models, circus performers dazzled the audience with a hula hoops and acrobatic performances.  The event had many fellow nonprofits vendors which sold bags, jewelry, shirts, and even glitter (each vendor also donated a portion of their proceeds to FCE).  After seeing the show Ilsa and I of course could not resist purchasing a t-shirt.  There is not much more I can use to justify my purchases then realizing that my money goes straight to charity, yet I always wonder how much exactly goes to helping the needy.  At Feeding Children Everywhere they tell you on their shirts in their “This Shirt Fed 40” design.   Feeding Children Everywhere not only provides free meals to those in need but each meal is simple, healthy, and delicious and provides necessary proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins.  Sounds like a pretty good deal for 20 dollars!

Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 2013 Details

This fall, Universal Orlando Resort will transform reality into a surreal fight for survival as the critically-acclaimed survival horror video game series Resident Evil becomes a haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights 23.

This completes this year’s lineup for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 23, which will feature some of the most outrageously terrifying, highly-recognizable names in entertainment and pop culture. In addition to Resident Evil, the event will also include haunted houses based on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” Mexican urban legend La Llorona and critically acclaimed horror films “Evil Dead,” “An American Werewolf in London” and “The Cabin in the Woods.” Universal Orlando is also dedicating its entire Halloween Horror Nights street experience to “The Walking Dead” – making this the first time ever that all of the scare zones throughout the park will be themed after a hit television series.

For Resident Evil, Universal’s Entertainment team collaborated with the video game creators at Capcom to create a horrifyingly authentic haunted house based on some of the popular video games from the Resident Evil series. Guests will become desperate survivors inside the viral catastrophe, Raccoon City. As they journey through the city, they’ll encounter vicious characters from the games such as Lickers, bloodthirsty zombies, packs of Cerberuses and even Nemesis himself. Fans will be completely transported inside the video game realm – to the extent that one room in the haunted house will appear as if an action-packed fight scene is paused, as if the gamer has taken a quick break before returning to the horror of Raccoon City.

The Resident Evil franchise is now firmly established as a mainstay of contemporary culture with blockbuster live action movies, CG anime, manga, novels and numerous merchandising lines being produced alongside the videogame series. To date, the Resident Evil series of videogames has achieved global sales of more than 57 million units.

“It’s such a great delight to work with Universal on a haunted house based on the Resident Evil games,” said Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, Producer of Resident Evil 6. “The games have become synonymous with survival horror and we look forward to delivering a new way for consumers to experience the Resident Evil world we have created in the haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights.”

“Resident Evil is a perfect final addition to Halloween Horror Nights 23,” said Michael Aiello, Creative Director for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. “We were able to create incredibly elaborate sets that plant you right in the midst of Raccoon City’s apocalyptic nightmare, along with terrifying adversaries that will send them running.”

Florida Hospital Breaks Ground on New Winter Garden Campus

With Horizon West waking back up and Winter Garden becoming one of Central Florida’s most popular hot spots the area was in desperate need for a new medical facility.  Florida Hospital broke ground on its new $65 million Winter Garden facility on in September.  The new three-story, 75,000 sq ft facility is slated to open Winter 2014, well the first floor of it.  That floor will feature an emergency department and outpatient imaging.  The two additional floors, which are slated to open in 2015, will feature an outpatient surgery centers, for medical emergencies, although if you’re looking more of a cosmetic surgery as a body liposuctions there are several quality options online. You can also get in touch with an expert rhinoplasty specialist in Miami.

“We are very excited to be a part of this rapidly growing community of Winter Garden,” said Florida Hospital President and CEO Lars Houmann.  “We want to strengthen our presence in this community as a trusted healthcare partner that brings greater access to care close to home.” Aside from healthcare, plastic surgery clinics are also available. One of it is by Andres Bustillo, a well known Miami facial plastic surgeon.

This building is just the first phase of the new west Orange medical campus, located across the street from Winter Garden Village at Fowler Groves.  The next phase will feature a 200-bed, seven-story community hospital, though no timeline for that phase has been set.

“We are so pleased that Florida Hospital has chosen Winter Garden as the site for their newest facility,” said Winter Garden Mayor John Rees.  “This health campus will bring superior, high-paying jobs to our community and will make Winter Garden more attractive as a place that others will want to live, work and play.”

Amanda Maggard, assistant vice president of west Orange development for Florida Hospital, was also announced as the new head for Winter Garden health campus.

New Social Impact Video Game Launches Campaign

What is The Solar Games?

How can we really help 2033?

Who is really working on this?

Where is this being built?

goodXgames, Inc.,  a social impact video game studio, launches an international  Indiegogog crowdfunding campaign for their upcoming video game titled The Solar Games. The campaign runs from September 18th until October 18th 2013. The team is led by Bradley Bulifant -Executive Producer, Steve Brown-Producer and a diverse coalition of industry, educational and development professionals and organizations. Learn more about The Solar Games and its Mad Max style arena battle and racing games  that combine competitive gameplay, music,  comedy and real world impact.

TheSolarGames

goodXgames has developed a new approach to video games and revenue models, the game uses 50% of  profits to bring solar electricity to communities in Haiti and other developing countries.  The  crowdfunding campaign will initially raise funding for Solar Games: Battle, an arena based enviro-apocalyptic solar kart battle.  Additional Stretch Goal funding will allow for the completion of Solar Games: Racing and the Impact partner network in Haiti. Please share the campaign link and back the project to be part of the coalition.  “After a year of development with our  US & Haiti teams, we need that last stretch of funding to roll out Solar Games: Battle by the Holidays as our gift to Haiti.  As our funding is dried up, we need Indiegogo’s community to help us.”  -Bradley Bulifant, CEO goodXgames. Two companies hope to bankroll new video games with a financing method that has been used to underwrite billions of dollars for film productions; just like how LoL has spent millions to develop their games, and have never compromised for their quality. What this company really needs are tenant guarantor loans. These video gaming companies use sportsbook platform providers to ensure the smooth running of the game without any technical hindrance.

The purpose of The Solar Games is to utilize entertaining and innovative approaches to fund energy access initiatives through a video game. Fifty percent of game profits are contributed to a low interest fund for microfinance institutions like dealstruck.com and installers  to provide solar PV systems for communities without electricity. The game experience integrates new approaches to player’s choice in gaming, music and integrated visual music experiences that includes exclusive artist content, comedic backing commentary and  new options for in-game purchases.
