Conquering Kilimanjaro Florida Premiere

December 3, 2014 @ 7:45 PM - 10:00 PM

| $10 - $100

More than a film, Conquering Kilimanjaro is an inspirational shout out to cancer survivors everywhere that celebrates the power of love and the irrepressible nature of the human spirit. It is a feature length documentary on the Survivor Summit participants’ life-changing and life-challenging efforts to climb Tanzania’s Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest freestanding mountain at 19,341 feet.

Please join us for a special red carpet film premiere as we celebrate the Florida premiere of Conquering Kilimanjaro and stand up for our inspirational friend and colleague Wendy Chioji. A two-time cancer survivor, Wendy has been diagnosed with recurrent Thymic Carcinoma and has just been accepted into a clinical trial. Wendy will be in attendance and will share her inspirational story with the audience. A former Central Florida news anchor, Wendy was part of Survivor Summit 2014, the expedition team chronicled in Conquering Kilimanjaro, the documentary film by Marc Middleton. The film celebrates the power of love and the irrepressible nature of the human spirit documenting the life-changing and life-challenging efforts to climb Tanzania’s Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest freestanding mountain at 19,341 feet. The climb was led by world famous high altitude mountaineer, Chris Warner and in addition to Chioji and Middleton, included LIVESTRONG CEO Doug Ulman, world-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Masson and other survivors and advocates from the cancer community.

A portion of the proceeds from the event, which is being held at Full Sail Live at Full Sail University, will be donated to the LIVESTRONG Foundation in Wendy’s name.
