Etsy Craft Party & Fair 2016 “Back to Basics” Presented by Central Florida Artisans’ Guild

June 18, 2016 @ 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

| free

Central Florida Artisans’ Guild presents this year’s Etsy Craft Party & Fair. We will be giving away 100 swag bags to the first 100 adult guest. One guest will receive a special swag bag that consists of all the same swag as the other bags but inside of a large flamingo printed cooler bag with an added adult coloring book, colored pencils and flamingo printed neck pillow with matching sleeping eye mask.

We will also have door prizes and a drawing at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased for the drawing day of the event at 1 for $1 or 6 for $5. You must be present for the drawing to claim your prizes if you win. There will be a FREE candy buffet as well.

The craft area will be located on top of the stage area, so you will need to go up a few steps to get to it. Please keep in mind that, even though a family friendly event, Etsy craft party has always been more of adult focused when it comes to the crafting table, so there may not be many for small children.

With adult coloring having such popularity these days we decided to incorporated this activity with a bit of a nature craft. Not much compares to the sheer satisfaction of planting and nurturing your own big, beautiful and happy sunflower! So guest will have a chance to take home their own sunflower pot craft. You will get to color a die-cut sunflower printed coloring wrap to go around the peat pot with your craft. You will also take home the seeds and soil disk, which germinate in about 7 to 14 days. This craft is limited to 24 guest and will be scheduled on the day, so make sure to look for that information as we get closer to the event.

The other main craft will be simple basket weaving. Guest who participate will received a 4inch plastic basket form on which they will weave multicolored yarn to create their coral reef gift basket. This craft is limited to 48 and will also be scheduled.  We will have some simple paper crafts available throughout the day that are not scheduled, so this way everyone can have a chance to make and take a project.

Venue Rules & Recommendations:
The venue is NON-SMOKING. This means that you cannot smoke anywhere inside or outside on the property. This includes the parking lots on either side of the building, the front of the building and grass area across from the front doors, and the outside patio spaces by the lake. Anyone caught smoking in these areas will be asked to leave the event.

Strollers or any type of rolling cart that is not a handicap wheelchair of some kind are highly recommended to be left in your car or at home. This recommendation comes from the way the venue is constructed inside. It is separated into levels by stairs (short stairs but they are used to get from area to area) and can be a bit of a fuss to bring a stroller or other carriage up and down them to get around the event. The available lift is for handicap use ONLY, and not meant to be used as an elevator. If you do decide to bring one please be mindful of the other guest around you, and our event set up.

Parking:
Guest may park in the adjacent lots on either side of the building but there is limited space, so we ask that guest use the street parking available and other areas that are designated. The science center has parking but it is not free. Florida Hospital, Orlando Museum of Art and a few other places are close by but may also have paid parking.
