About Vans Warped Tour:
The Vans Warped Tour, presented by Journeys, is well known as America’s longest running touring music festival of the summer. Since 1995, the tour has been a showcase for both established and up and coming talent, across a wide range of eclectic sub-genres.

The tour has also cemented its place in history by bringing alternative rock and skate culture from the underground to the forefront of global youth culture, while at the same time helping those in need through non-profit and eco initiatives.

Alternative Press readers voted the Vans Warped Tour as the “Best Tour/Festival” and Rolling Stone called it “America’s Most Successful Festival”.  Now in its 23rd year, the 41-date tour will commence June 16th in Seattle, WA and end on August 6th in Pomona, CA.

CFE Arena: Brantley Gilbert with Special Guest Canaan Smith & Michael Ray

The rough-and-tumble hitmaker, Brantley Gilbert, has racked up five #1 singles, multiple award show nominations, was named 2013 ACM Awards New Male Vocalist of the Year, and is bringing his tour to the CFE Arena on February 5, 2016 along with special guests Canaan Smith and Michael Ray.

Brantley Gilbert’s JUST AS I AM PLATINUM EDITION summited iTunes Top Country Albums chart upon release and currently holds the #8 spot on 2015’s Top Country Albums chart. The Georgia native penned each of the 19 tracks, sharing a more intimate glimpse into this chapter of his life with songs like the title track “Just As I Am” as well as his latest single “Stone Cold Sober.” The project serves as a thank you to the loyal BG Nation for their support of 2014’s JUST AS I AM, which notched the third-highest Country debut of 2014 and landed in the Top 5 Best Selling Country Albums of 2014. The album also scored Favorite Country Album at the American Music Awards, producing 2X PLATINUM #1 smash “Bottoms Up,” GOLD-certified #1 “One Hell Of An Amen” and Gold-certified “Small Town Throwdown.”

Earlier this year, Brantley took home the first ever, fan-voted Renegade Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards recognizing an artist who breaks boundaries while remaining true to himself or herself. This spring, Brantley embarked on an impactful motorcycle ride with Wound Warrior Project® to help launch their Rolling Odyssey therapy program alongside Harley-Davidson. Watch the recap here. The longtime motorcycle rider continues his dedication to service men and women who fight the good fight, appearing on FOX & Friends in June to surprise one of the riders with tickets to the CMT Music Awards. Staff Sergeant Justin Patterson and his wife represented Brantley’s Collaborative Video of the Year nomination for “Small Town Throwdown” ft. Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett.

Catch Dinner at Ocean Prime During Magical Dining Month

Food glorious food. It warms the heart and soul, brings friends and family together. Food gives strangers a reason to sit around a common space sharing meals and stories, making new friends in the process, some lasting a lifetime.

I was recently invited to dinner at Ocean Prime Orlando as part of a bloggers meet-up to preview their selections for Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month. When I drove up to Ocean Prime for the event I realized I’d driven by their location many times and sadly had never noticed it was there.   That was definitely my loss, because the food was spectacular, the staff friendly and the atmosphere soothing. Ocean Prime won’t go unnoticed any longer, and I will definitely be back!

Ocean Prime

Orlando’s Magical Dining Month started August 24th and runs throughout the month of September. You’ll find more than 75 Orlando area restaurants participating, offering 3 courses for $33. That’s quite an amazing offer at some of the best restaurants in Central Florida.

Ocean Prime Orlando, Magical dining month

One of the menu items I sampled was the Teriyaki Salmon. The Salmon was served on a bed of Shiitake Sticky Rice with an outrageously delicious Soy Butter Sauce and a melange of vegetables.

Ocean Prime Orlando, Magical dining month

The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with a sweet corn cream and succotash was my personal favorite from the many entrees we were served. We also got to try the Lobster Mashed Potatoes and Chop House Corn, both excellent side dishes. Ocean Prime also has an amazing sushi menu and offers a unique sampling of cocktails. The Bubbles and Berries pictured at the top of this post was not only delicious but fun to drink.

Ocean Prime Orlando, Magical Dining month

And then there was dessert… sigh. They called it Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, I called it Heaven on a Plate. The chef at Ocean Prime Orlando  started with an Oreo cookie crust base, added a sinfully rich peanut butter mousse and wrapped it in a bittersweet chocolate ganache… sigh. Can you say OMG?

But what impressed me the most about Ocean Prime was the level of service we received and the atmosphere of the restaurant. There was live music that was so good, I thought it was recorded and a thoughtful, friendly staff throughout the building to serve you.

Ocean Prime is an ideal place to socialize, talk business, celebrate and indulge. In this day and age you don’t often see a dress code in place, and I appreciate the fact that Ocean Prime suggests stylish attire.  They let their guests know that jackets and gorgeous high heels always welcome. So please don’t show up in athletic apparel or baseball caps! Dress to impress and the meal will be even more delicious and the evening even more special.

Ocean Prime Orlando can be found at the Rialto at Sand Lake at  7339 West Sand Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32819. You can make reservations by calling (407) 781-4880. Dinner is available Monday – Thursday  5-10pm; Friday – Saturday 5-11pm; Sunday 5pm-close.

New Score Chamber Orchestra August Concerts

The New Score Chamber Orchestra is a collection of Orlando’s best and brightest musicians with a program focused on compositions and arrangements fashioned by contemporary composers. Founded by James Wehr, a decorated publisher and trombonist, all audiences are treated to new music from different corners of the world with performances that reflect both musical prowess and heart-felt expression with every note.

August Showtimes:

Saturday, August 29th, 8pm at Maitland Presbyterian Church

Sunday, August 30th, 5:30pm at The Abbey
