A Gift For Teaching’s Back-to-School Blast to be hosted by Mario Lopez

A playdate anytime with A Gift for Teaching?!

We’re THERE.

A nighttime playdate with delicious food, libations, entertainment, and special guests including Ella Rose, Mario Lopez, Chris Kirkpatrick, former Orlando Magic players Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw, and Matt Austin from WKMG?

We’re TOTALLY in!

A Gift for Teaching Back to School Blast

With support from Wells Fargo and the Westgate Resorts Foundation, A Gift for Teaching’s Back to School Blast will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 6:30 – 10:30 p.m. at the Rosen Shingle Creek, and will help 180,000 kids in need. A Gift for Teaching distributes $55,000 of free product daily, and you could imagine with so many in need, this goes really fast.

A Gift for Teaching’s Back to School Blast will have an old school (ha!) ‘playroom’ with oversized games for the kid in you, and a signature martini bar and a bunch of silent auction opportunities for your inner adult! “It’s the best party in town and an opportunity to share and celebrate everything AGFT has accomplished this year, as we look forward to goals we have for the next school year,”  said Marisa Worley, AGFT’s Director of Development. Also, here’s a little tip for when you are looking for a gift in the last minute and it’s as easy as going online and finding the best door gift singapore, custom t shirt, bag or anything you’d like to give your special one.

I was never good at math but I have a healthy respect for its place in our world. (Yes, as I’ve learned, even Algebra serves a purpose!) Here’s a really easy equation that even I can remember:  (T+t) / (S + s) x (f) = AGFT.

Teachers + tools / Students + supplies x future = A Gift for Teaching!

(T)eachers need (t)ools to teach.

(S)tudents need (s)upplies to learn, especially in our fast growing, digital world.

Today’s kids will one day take the reigns and lead the way to our (f)uture…

Think of (A Gift for Teaching) as their catalyst.

…so I’m no John Nash, but you get the point.

Orlando City Soccer’s Kaka Meets Orlando Magic’s Vic Oladipo

Kaka, meet Victor. Victor, meet Kaka.

This is exactly what happened from the Orlando Magic center court right before last night’s game against the New York Knicks. (Spoiler Alert: The Magic WON!)

Also, because we love him so, here’s a shot of STUFFMagic and Kaka from Orlando Magic‘s twitter stream…

Visit The National Entrepreneur Center in the Orlando Fashion Square Mall

by Kelly Green
Orlando attracts visitors from around the world, so it’s only fitting that an organization that connects local businesses with the rest of the Nec360world would have its headquarters here. The National Entrepreneur Center was founded in 2003, and was originally called the Disney Entrepreneur Center. Today the NEC is located in the Orlando Fashion Square at 3201 East Colonial Drive, Orlando, Florida.

Small business owners can receive free one-on-one business coaching, as well as access to reasonably priced meeting space, low-cost seminars, publicity opportunities, networking events and more.

The center offers training and tips on how to turn business ideas into reality, what steps to follow, and guides business owners so they have the tools necessary to make their business succeed.

We were invited to tour the facility as part of their first ever Blogger Bash, and it’s impressive seeing not only the myriad ways the National Entrepreneur Center can help local business (and businesses around the country), but how the facility itself is a place where businesses are working in a shared space. Instead of each group buying certain office equipment et al, they share resources to keep operational costs low.

Local businesses Tijuana Flats and Gigi’s Cupcakes provided dinner and dessert for our group, and The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce also provided a pair of tickets to attend the Latin Food and Wine Festival in Altamonte Springs at Crane’s Roost this weekend. The Orlando Magic, also partnered to make the event a great success.

In addition, the NEC, in association with Southwest Airlines, is giving Exclusive Access to Central Florida Top 5 and other participating blogs. Our readers have a chance to win tRafflecopter logo linkwo round trip airline tickets! Click the icon at left to enter. The contest is live, and ends at midnight on October 24, 2014. Good luck.

Central Florida is a growing world market and is at the crossroads of trade lanes. Entrepreneurs and business owners should take advantage of the opportunities available at the National Entrepreneur Center so together we can create more jobs, bolster higher wages and secure economic benefits for us all.
