Give Kids The World Silver Anniversary Black & White Gala 2013

Black-tie fundraising gala will inspire hope for children with life-threatening illnesses

Give Kids The World’s Silver Anniversary Black & White Gala will be held on Saturday, June 1 at The Peabody Orlando. This year’s 25th anniversary gala will honor the heritage of Give Kids The World by peeking back in time and inviting guests to look at the world, “Through the eyes of a child,” celebrating the more than 120,000 children who have experienced a week of magical memories because of the generosity of countless individuals, community groups and corporations. Many people are unfamiliar with the term serviced apartment. However, the word apartment is pretty much self-explanatory for most people. Likewise, the word service is also known in its meaning by the general population. It is safe to say that everyone knows what a hotel is. Put all three of these together and you have a serviced apartment. It is a hotel-like apartment intended for short-term or long-term accommodations. They are considered to be a home away from home, with the many of the same amenities as a traditional hotel. One huge difference from that of a hotel that people may notice right away is that serviced apartments are usually quite spacious, have some sort of a kitchen and are furnished and equipped more like a home. Most come with both a washer and dryer in the unit, or located on the premises. They are usually homier in feel and furnishings. Because of the longer stay, they tend to be less expensive than hotels. Here you can find 19 thigs to do in Shepparton with kids.

These specialized facilities range in size from studio to multi-room. They also vary in design from a simple, economy features to elegant, luxurious features. People find them ideal for business use as well as leisure usages. Whether traveling a long or short distance, on business or vacation, alone or with family and friends, these stylish and spacious apartments provide a home-like environment. Ultimately, people desire to feel at home even when traveling.

One can expect to find all the modern conveniences of home. Most come with a fully outfitted kitchen or kitchenette. This includes all the basic counter top appliances such as a microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Depending on which serviced apartment one chooses, there may also be hospitality type items. A favorite are the starter packages for the kitchen, bath and utility closet. These include essential items like coffee, tea, dish soap, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, a mop, broom, iron, laundry detergent and other items needed for everyday use.

High speed internet, which is usually wireless, is pretty standard in most facilities. Those traveling on business will greatly appreciate the business center and meeting rooms if such services are needed. Almost everyone enjoys a dip in the pool, and there is usually an indoor or outdoor pool available for guests. If children are being brought on the trip, some facilities offer a playground. It’s nice to have a place for the kids to run and play and work off some of that energy. Travelers wanting to keep up with their workout routine should choose a place that has a fitness center. Some even allow guests to bring their pets.

With amenities for daily use and many of the services offered by a traditional hotel, it is clear why these facilities are gaining in popularity. Since most have basic cable, flat screen televisions, DVD players, clock radios, and internet service, guests can stay connected to the world just as they do when at home. From budget to luxury, single-room to multi-room, kitchenettes to gourmet kitchens, these hotel-like apartments can accommodate every taste and need. People all over the world are discovering the comfort and convenience of staying at a serviced apartment.

Celebrating 25 years of magical evenings that have helped make dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses, the Silver Anniversary Black & White Gala at The Peabody Orlando will honor the heritage of Give Kids The World by peeking back in time and inviting guests to look at the world, “Through the eyes of a child.”  Guests will explore their imagination to experience a world where monsters are slayed with laughter, rainbows paint the sky and children are free from worry.  Highlights of this year’s gala will include exquisite cuisine and open bar, dynamic multi-media videos, inspirational vocal performances, comedic connections, dancing and the best silent auction in the South Eastern United States.

All proceeds from the ticket sales and silent auction will help provide magical memories that inspire hope for the families visiting Give Kids The World.  Cocktails at 6:30 pm with Dinner & Dancing at 7:30 pm!   Support today!
