National Girls’ Baseball Team Plays Against the Boys USSSA Tournament

Florida Girls Travel to Play Ball!

We are cheering on West Seminole Baseball in Altamonte Springs, FL as they are sending Grace DeVinney  and Aubrey Evans to California!

*Update the girls are in the semi-finals! (more soon)

Girls are often told to quit baseball and go play softball. But this weekend a tournament at Big League Dreams: Chico Hills and Riverside, California will prove different.

Breaking gender norms, this Memorial Day weekend, a national girls baseball team will play in a USSSA tournament at Big League Dreams in Los Angeles. Baseball For All’s 10u team is the only girls team in the baseball tournament and perhaps the first 10u team to compete in a boys’ baseball tournament. The all-star team has girls from eight states (see roster below). The USSA event will be their first tournament together.

Baseball For All is a 501c(3) providing meaningful opportunities in baseball, especially for girls. Baseball For All’s President and Founder, Justine Siegal, is the only woman to throw batting practice to an MLB team (Cleveland Indians, 2011) and to coach men’s professional baseball (Brockton Rox, 2009).
